The 37th PSBMB Annual Convention will be held on December 2-3, 2010 at the Century Park Manila. Our host is the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology of the College of Medicine of University of the Philippines-Manila. Watch out for more information in the next few weeks!

    NEWS ARCHIVES

     

    • The 11th RevUp Workshop was held on 26 April 2010 at Central Luzon State University with a packed crowd of 161 participants.

    • The 36th PSBMB Annual Convention on "Biotechnology and Biodiversity for Food Sustainability." was held on December 2-5, 2009 at Central Mindanao University. This convention also featured the 10th RevUP Workshop on December 2, and a post-convention Bukidnon Agri-Ecotour on December 5. Please visit the convention page here

    • The 35th PSBMB Annual Convention was hosted by the National Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, University of the Philippines-Diliman. More information about it at the Philippine Science Letters site. Let's support Philippine Science Letters: http://www.philsciletters.org

    • 10th Eurasia Conference on the Chemical Sciences, held last January 2008. Four Nobel Prize winners in Chemistry gave lectures.

    • The 34th Annual Convention and Ecotour was held on 29 November to 1 December 2007 at the Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilRice) under the leadership of Dr. Gabby Romero.

    • 7th RevUp: CHED Faculty Upgrading Workshop for Chemistry Instructors at institutions offering B.S. Chemistry.  The PSBMB is one of the partners of the Commission on Higher Education, the Philippine Federation of Chemical Societies, and the Institute of Chemistry of the University of the Philippines-Diliman for a faculty upgrading program. Contact the Commission on Higher Education- Technical Panel for Science and Math- Committee for Chemistry for more details about the program.
       

      The PSBMB will be conducting the Biochemistry Modules on 22-26 October 2007.

     


    • In Memoriam - Dr. Gloria de Castro-Bernas (1943-2006)
       

    • The 33rd Annual PSBMB Convention was held on December 7-8, 2006 at the West Visayas State University in Iloilo City, Iloilo, back to back with the 6th RevUp Workshop on December 9, 2006, for high school teachers of the region.

     

    • The 5th RevUp Workshop will be held on October 19-20, 2006 at the University of Santo Tomas Central Library in Manila
       
    • PSBMB/ UST Special Lecture in honor of the late Dr. Gloria de Castro-Bernas was held on October 18, 2006. Professor Takashi Okamoto will speak on "Transcriptional Regulation as a Novel Therapeutic Strategy for Cancer, Leukemia, AIDS and Rheumatoid Arthritis". Time: 9:30-11:00. Venue: CME Auditorium, St. Martin de Porres Bldg, University of Santo Tomas, Manila.

    • The 2nd RevUp Workshop for reviews and updates in the field of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry for High School Teachers was held on September 30, 2005, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Antonio Garcia Hall (Rm 222) of the University of the Philippines-Manila College of Medicine, Calderon Hall, UP Manila campus.

      The 2nd RevUp was part of the centennial celebration activities of the College of Medicine of UP Manila.
