About PSBMB
The PSBMB is a national organization, established in 1973, that promotes the appreciation and application of biochemistry and molecular biology for the benefit of the country. The PSBMB is committed to upgrade knowledge in these fields by encouraging research and education, by establishing communication and exchange of professional knowledge, and by providing capacities for the improvement of the socio-economic and health conditions of the country. The society is a member of the Federation of Asian and Oceanian Biochemists and Molecular Biologists (FAOBMB) and represents the country in the International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (IUBMB).
The PSBMB holds an Annual Scientific Meeting that brings together scientists and researchers from all over the Philippines to discuss current developments in science and technology, and their relevant applications for the country, and for the world. This event provides a vibrant venue for discussing current Philippine capabilities for conducting and utilizing cutting edge technologies for relevant applications. Invited speakers and participants come from leading local and international institutions
This year, the PSBMB is holding its 53rd Annual Scientific Meeting entitled “P53MB-Agpatpatuloy: Heading North and Moving Forward through Biochemistry and Molecular Biology”. The Ilocano term Agpatpatuloy captures the drive to push “Onwards”, through the challenges, building a brighter future through collaborative work and dedicated service. We hope you join us push onwards for a better Philippines.
P53MB will be held on 26-27 November 2026 at the Ilocandia Cultural Center at the City of Batac, Ilocos Norte. Preconference seminars and activities will be held on Nov 25.
